1. Landing on Moon
The story 'From the Earth to the Moon' written by Jules Verne's states that, the first mission to land on the moon was launched from a base in Florida in December. The crew had three members, who sat in a large capsule totally made up of aluminum. The Verne's crew landed in the Pacific Ocean after the moonwalk and was picked up by a U.S Navy ship. Verne predicted, about 100 years ago before the first moon walk, many details of mission in his novel. This ships which picked the crew up had the same names as in the novel. Also another shocking detail in the story is that astronauts after reaching the space experienced weightlessness. That's true but Jules Verne wrote this story in 1865, and there was absolutely no way for him to know that it was true.

Mark Twain superficially wrote the science fiction stories and one of them actually describes the internet as it is today and it is from the 'London Times' of 1994. twain's story included a system called telectroscope, and this system connected the people from all over the globe just like today's telephone and everybody became aware of the daily doings of the globe. A person who is condemned for murder is the main character of the story and he is saved from death only moments before his execution, with the help of 'telectroscope'. What happens is his, the friend of the main character catches glimpse of his supposed victim during an event shown live from china. Many details about the story were written in 1898.
3. Atomic Bomb
The book 'The World Set Free' written by H.G Wells has many descriptions about the today's atomic bomb. You will not find them impressive until you are told that this book was written 30 years before the first experiment of the atomic bomb. H.G Wells had a little and basic knowledge of the atomic physics but he thought that this basic knowledge can be used to create a bomb. The atomic bomb of Well had a power equal to normal explosives but they exploded continuously for days. H.G Wells also predicted that there will be health problems and the area will remain inhabitable for several years. A researcher named Leo Szilard, belonging to Manhattan Project cited many passages in a letter to Hugo Hirst. Stated "It is remarkable that Wells should have written those pages in 1914. Of course, all this is moonshine, but I have reason to believe that in so far as the industrial applications of the present discoveries in physics are concerned, the forecast of the writers may prove to be more accurate than the forecast of the scientists."
4. Radar
The novel "Ralph 124C 41+" written by Hugo Gernsback's is not considered to be a good novel by most of the people, they do not pay attention to his superb predictions about the technology we use today and this technology includes solar power, remote control television and tape recorders. His most amazing prediction was Radar. His novel included an idea that "pulsating polarized ether wave, if directed on a metal object can be reflected in the same manner as a light ray is reflected from a bright surface, from the intensity and elapsed time of the reflected impulses, the distance between the earth and the flyer can then be accurately estimated." The writer of the novel Hugo Gernsback also included a drawing nearly similar to today's radar. After 24 years of Ralph's publication, in 1934 the U.S Navy showed its radar system.
5. News papers on Internet
The idea for online news paper was given very first time by Arthur C. Clarke in his novel "2001: A Space Odyssey". In just a paragraph of few lines Clarke was able to bring the news online (on internet) in a superb way as it is done today. "With a single click, in a few milliseconds he was able to read the headlines of any news paper he liked, and the text was updated every hour automatically, even if somebody reads only English versions, he could spend an entire lifetime doing nothing but absorbing the forever changing flow of information from the news satellites. And also those communication satellites were invented by C. Clarke.

If we talk about the best and most successful person at predicting future war machines, then he would be, without any doubt, H.G Wells. He predicted future war machines in his novels. He not also predicted the atomic bomb but he also predicted about the today's tanks and he named them 'Land Ironclads'. He wrote a short story which was published in 1903 and showed a war correspondent's ruminations on what will be the importance of this new and wonderful machine in war. Land Ironclads were 100 feet in length and had guns which were controlled by remotes had a capacity of 42 soldiers, including the 7 officers. They had the capacity of breaching trenches and also they were followed by men's, riding bicycles and holding the occupied territory. Tanks for the first time appeared in battlefield, 13 years after Wells story was published, in 1916 and from 1916 tanks have proved to be an efficient and wonderful machine for combat.
7. Virtual Reality Games
In 1958, the first ever video game of the world was invented, and Arthur C. Clarke wrote about video games in 1956. C. Clarke's novel "the city and the stars" shows and explains the city of Diaspar. It is a city which is completely run and controlled by computer and even its residents are controlled by computer. The age of people of Diaspar is more than 1000 years, before they are absorbed by the Memory Banks of the city and after some years they will appear again with a completely new adult body. The best entertainment in the city of Diaspar is a virtual reality game." you possessed or seemed to possess a free will and you were not only a passive observer but an active participant….there was enough flexibility to allow for wide variation. As long as the dream lasted there was no way in which it could be distinguished from reality."

In present time we have Skype and those computers which have built in cameras. The first picture phone was introduced at New York World's Fair in 1964 by AT&T, but actually this idea was brought first time by Hugo Gernsback in 1911. Again coming towards his novel "Ralph 124C 41+", he wrote about the technology we will be using in coming years. He gave the idea about 'Telephot', which was a wall mounted screen and that connected person with other people by pushing few buttons. The hero even meets with his future girl friend, in the story, through the Telephot in case of crossed wires.
9. Credit Cards
Edward Bellamy wrote about the use of credit cards in 1888, and at that time he was pulling ideas out of air, as the people could only use the credit cards to buy something if they knew the sales person. Edward Bellamy also wrote a novel "Looking Backwards" and in this novel he describes credit card transactions. The novel is about a man who falls asleep in the year 1888 to wake up in the year 2000 to a socialist society. His novel describes that credit card system is backed by the credit of American government. Each men and women are given a certain line of credit on their card and the government pays off the credit by using the part of the GDP. Edward Bellamy also tells that how credit card will be used for all type of currencies in the world.
10. Scuba Diving
During the time of Jules Verne's day, for remaining underwater water for a long period of time, a person needed to wear a large cumbersome suit, and oxygen was supplied to the person from the ship by air hose which had to be long enough to reach the surface, so the person could breathe. In his novel "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea", he has described a diving apparatus which is very much similar to today's scuba diving. Benoit Rouquayrol and Auguste Denayrouze design were the designs on which Verne's system was based, and this system could store large amount of air and gave the divers the opportunity to move around freely for 7 to 8 minutes. The device made by Verne had a reservoir of thick iron plates, in which air was stored under a pressure of 50 atmospheres. The iron reservoir was attached to the back of the diver with the help of braces. This also gave the user the opportunity to remain under under the water for 7 to 8 hours and explore the deep ocean.
